Hi again
It’s been a minute. And boy has a lot happened since my last entry. Where to begin, I was featured in Architectural Digest, bought a home, formally launched a business, started accepting design clients, and shared more of my DIYs on TikTok. Do you want the long story? Keep reading . I’ll write a separate entry on all that I mentioned, but for now, I want to reacclimatize myself to this digital space. It’s a space for open thoughts. One sided conversation between me and you, dear reader. Please be patient with me as I organize my thoughts, my visions, my ideas. I’m learning how to prioritize, photograph, and translate my busting ideas into digestable visuals. Though this is all new and scary, I’m excited and eager to find out what this can mean. If anything, it’s an online diary to track my progress and learnings.
Toodaloo,
Michaela
Doubling My Closet Space
For the past five years, I have been graced with a walk-in closet that afforded me a shopping habit and room to spare. In recent years I have paired down my closet, but my new apartment’s bedroom closet continued to show me new levels of…minimalism. In rebellion against my closet, I decided to increase my storage by using the ClosetMaid closet organizer. This addition added a new rod to the right of my closet and permitted more space on the left to hold a short dresser and hang long dresses. See the transformation progress on my TikTok!
I moved!
Is there anything more exciting than a new blank apartment? It’s a white box void of your personality or memories. Once you receive the keys for that apartment, you accept the responsibility to care for the apartment, to maintain its utilities and cleanliness. In my head, when I got the keys to Apartment 3, I could barely contain my excitement. In addition to the responsibility, I was given the opportunity. This new apartment is a new chance to express my personality, make new memories, host friendly gatherings, and watch myself grow. While I’m too old now to mark notches on the door frame to track my growth, I still want to track my progress and growth. This blog is my outlet to do so. Welcome to my safe space, my dwelling, my lived-out daydream! I hope you are as excited as I am to start giving this new blank apartment a reason to be called home. Take a sneak peak below!
